Gillian Casey completed her undergraduate degree at McMaster University where she graduated with Honours and received a Bachelors of Science and Kinesiology. Throughout her undergraduate degree Gillian focused her studies on human anatomy, sports injuries, personal training, and the body’s biomechanics. She then went on to continue her education at the University of Toronto, where she completed a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. 

Gillian has always had a passion for sports and fitness. She has over 10 years of experience figure skating at a competitive level. Her achievements include attaining Gold level in Freestyle, Skills, and Dance, and a top 3 finish at the Central Ontario Skating Championship, and several features in her local ice shows.  She also volunteered her time for several seasons teaching CanSkate. Gillian has also been an avid soccer player for many years, previously competing at the OYSL (provincial) level. She continues to play competitively today and has also gained valuable knowledge from coaching at summer soccer camps.  As an athlete Gillian truly understands how important a full and prompt recovery from injury is. 
 
As a STOTT Pilates trained instructor, Gillian incorporates postural control, core stability and flexibility training in her treatments and one-on-one training sessions. She is an active member of the CPA and belongs to both its Orthopedic and Sports divisions. She is certified in Athletic Taping and is continually working to advance her skills and training on the field. Gillian has completed her Level II Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and is currently working towards further certification in Manual Therapy through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. In addition, Gillian has completed her certification of Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and uses this treatment modality as an adjunct to manual therapy for many of her clients.

Gillian is currently working with the Vaughan Azzurri soccer club providing on field management, injury prevention, and injury rehabilitation for their U17 OYSL girls team.
